A small addendum to this post: 9 out of the 10 top cities searching for "mit solar" are in Germany. The phrase "mit solar" means "with solar" in German, it is logical that the Germans, and their interest in solar, are driving this Google trend, and probably not the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Energy costs have risen to this rate due to a large amount of political lobby and no lack of demand on petroleum products. While the demand of energy is increasing the supply of alternative systems are not. Therefore allowing the oil industries to increase costs while increasing supply. Find help at www.onewaytec.com

This is true. German has a very good environment to develop solar technology. It impacts the whole world, including Asia recently.

Thanks Dr. Tonio for your note.

The German Federal Association of the Solar Industry reported that there were 1,300,000 solar plants in Germany in 2006. 220,000 new plants were erected in 2006 alone. In Germany, solar thermal plants are predominantly used to generate hot water and to augment the heating system in private households, but they are also increasingly being used in larger community facilities and open air swimming pools.

Wow, das nenne ich mal einen positiven Trend. Ich denke BP wird das ganze nochmal richtig anheizen im Unterbewusstsein. Außerdem lohnt sich das wirklich langsam alles. Viele Grüße Sabine Heizung.

Good to hear about all this news. There is a growth in the demand for solar energy and that makes me feel happy as there is gong to be cut in the electric usage which is scarce in the world and also save the earth by utilizing it's natural resources.
